Quick July Update

Things have been crazy since we got home from India in the fall. All of the holiday craziness... then we started a new job at the church as the secretary in February which has been an incredible blessing for our family. And, in May, we found out that we are expecting a new addition to our family in January. That's right, baby #4 is on its way! As if things weren't already crazy enough! It has been a rough pregnancy so far, but God has worked things out for good and the baby is now doing great.

We had originally hoped for a January departure date back to India, but that will have to be pushed back a few months as we get adjusted to having a new baby. We are not yet sure of our new departure date, but to be quite honest, a lot of it will depend on our funding. Because of pregnancy complications, we have not been able to travel to do any fundraising over the last few months, but the doctor has given us a good report and we can hopefully start travelling again soon!

Next week, we will be at Little Galilee Christian Camp for the week teaching the kids about India and sharing our journey with them. Last year when we did a week of camp, it was amazing! We had a lot of fun and we were so blessed by the kids we met and the impact they made on our lives. They raised almost $1000 for us last year during missions time as well. We are incredibly excited to have the opportunity to share with the kids again!

We will have the opportunity to speak again at another week of camp in August as well.

At the end of August, Dan and his brother Devon will be travelling to India for a few weeks to shoot some promotional videos for the hospital we will be working at. Please pray for their trip. Currently, we are waiting for their visas to arrive so we can purchase their plane tickets.

As for our fundraising, we would love to begin travelling again soon to visit churches and families, so if you would like us to come to your church and speak to a group or come share with your family about what God is doing in India, please let us know, or if you know anyone else that might, please pass the word on.

Merry Christmas to All!

Hi Everyone!  As we approach Christmas (4 days away, how did that happen?) Chrys and I have been reflecting on all the things we are thankful for and this year we have SO MANY.  We always have much to be thankful for but this year we have had the opportunity to see God work in some very unique ways and have watched him pour out blessings both on us and our friends and family.  We are thankful for everyone that has supported us throughout 2013 financially and through prayer as we have undertaken this mission to India.  We have been humbled and amazed by the amazing love showered upon us and we are thankful for each and every supporter we have.  We prefer, however, to recognize our supporters as partners because we understand that this Great Commission mission can only be done together as partners in it.  So in that spirit we are thankful for all of our PARTNERS in this mission.  You are a blessing from the Lord and we pray that each of you has a very Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year!

Wherever He Leads

Romans 10:13-15 NIV
"for 'Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.' How then, can they call on one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent?"

God has called us to "GO". Not because it is what we desire to do, but because in order to be saved, His people must hear! They must learn. They must believe. And they must come to know Him. We are being sent because if no one goes, they may never hear and may never be saved. We may not be perfect and we probably have a lot to learn along the way, but God has given us a heart for His people and we are willing to go wherever he sends us... Wherever he needs us!

Several years ago, if you had asked us to give up our worldly comforts and head overseas to do whatever work is asked of us, we would have been the first to tell you that that was not for us. God had called someone else to do that. Not us! Well... Things change. Hearts change. Minds change...not always willingly at first, but God has a way of working out all things in His time for His purpose!

Over the last few years, we have been on a bit of a journey. The road has been rocky, but the journey has been worth it. We have spent much time in prayer seeking God's direction in our lives. We wanted to know how we could be used to further His Kingdom. What could we do from our comfy couch? What did God tell us? "Get up off of the comfy couch! I want you to be uncomfortable because as long as you are comfortable, you will never be fully willing to go where I need you!"

Things have been uncomfortable, but He has used that uncomfortableness to push us toward seeking His will. When we began to seek His will and not our own, our lives began to change. Little by little, God began to show us direction. He used our talents and our passions to guide us in the right direction. Notice, I said "guide" us. It has taken us two years of searching and following His leading step by step to get to where we are. We had no idea where we would end up, but we kept following and asking "What next God?" And we will keep asking him, "What next?" And following wherever He leads us.

As we are in the last two weeks before heading off to serve Him in another country and to teach, and preach, and care for His people, anticipation is bubbling, nerves are working overtime, and we are extremely overjoyed that God has given us the opportunity to serve Him!
